Difference Between TV and Monitor.

                                                                 Many of them differentiate TV with Monitors, but why they do so? Can we connect our CPU to TV? Yes, we can connect our CPU to TV using HDMI port provided on the TV. But due to some advantages, many of them use monitors to connect CPUs but not TV. These are explained below:

1) Refresh Rate: 

                                                     The refresh rate is defined as the number of frames refreshed per second. It is measured in Hertz (Hz). The refresh rate should be more. The refresh rate of TV is normally 60Hz (60 frames per second) and the refresh rate of Monitor is more than 60Hz which helps it to display more number of frames per second compared to TVs. Nowadays some high-end TVs are coming with high refresh rate but as I mentioned they are very expensive.

2) Response Time:

                                                               Response time is defined as the total amount of time taken by CPU or functional unit to respond to a particular request. The response time should be less. The response time of TV is greater than Monitor (Response Time (TV > Monitor)). So, TVs are a bit slower than Monitors.

3)Color Accuracy:

                                                          TVs are designed basically to entertain, so they have high contrast and brightness level to give cinematic look, so they display the original video by applying them which may not be useful while you are editing a video. Whereas on the other hand, Monitors display the original video as it is without applying any filters or increasing brightness or contrast levels. So, the colors are more accurate on Monitors compared to TVs.


                                                         This is the reason most of the gamers use monitors instead of using TVs. So, finally if you want more speed and good color accuracy then use or connect CPUs to monitors and if you want big size display and cinematic look then use or connect CPUs to TVs.
